You can connect your laptop to an external monitor and extend your display. You can also use an external monitor as the primary display, which is useful if your laptop display is broken, or if you want to use a larger screen.
Connecting your laptop to an external monitor is easy, but you do need the right cables. If you’re using a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, then you’ll need the Lenovo Slim AC Adapter (Part Number: 0A36302) and HDMI-to-VGA cable (Part Number: 4X40E77325).
To begin, connect one end of the HDMI cable to your laptop’s HDMI port and connect the other end to your external monitor’s HDMI port. Next, connect one end of the USB Type-C cable to the AC adapter and plug it into a power source like a wall outlet or power strip. Then connect the other end of this cable to your laptop’s USB Type-C port. Finally, connect one end of the VGA cable to your external monitor’s VGA port and connect the other end to its power source using another power cord or extension cord if necessary.
