How Did Transportation Impact Colonial Regions Differently ?

Transportation was an important factor in the development of colonial regions. The first type of transportation used in colonial areas was waterway transportation. Waterway transportation included ships and boats that were used to carry goods from one place to another. This type of transportation was good for areas with large bodies of water, but not so good for areas without large bodies of water like deserts or jungles.

The second type of transportation used in colonial areas was roadways. Roadways were made out of dirt or stone and they were used to transport goods over land from one place to another. Roads were also built along rivers so that people could travel by boat on them if they wanted to go somewhere far away from home.

The third type of transportation used in colonial areas was railroads. Railroads are trains that are used to transport goods over land quickly and efficiently compared to other forms of ground transportation like horses or oxen pulling wagons and carts filled with goods being transported from one place to another (Encarta).
