Scotland has never won the football World Cup. They have qualified for the finals five times, but have never managed to make it past the group stage.
Scotland have been so close to progressing to the knockout stages on a couple of occasions, most notably in 1990 when they lost out 2-1 against Cameroon in their final group game.
The team is currently managed by Steve Clarke, who took over from Alex McLeish in June 2019. The former West Bromwich Albion manager has overseen an unbeaten start to his reign so far with two wins and one draw in three matches.
