It’s hard to believe, but many people are still unsure about how to dispose of old electronics. The reason is simple: some companies, like Apple and Dell, sell their products with “Do Not Throw Away” labels, even though they are recyclable or reusable. So it’s no wonder that people don’t know what to do with their old computers.
The good news is that most electronics can be recycled – even if they say “Do Not Throw Away” on them. Here are some tips for recycling your old computer:
Look for a recycle label inside the computer box or on the bottom of the computer itself. If you can’t find it, call the manufacturer and ask if they have an authorized recycler in your area who will take back their products.
