Do Nespresso Pods Expire ?

Yes, Nespresso capsules do expire. The reason for this is that the coffee inside the capsule is roasted to order, which means that it has a shelf life of around two months. This means that you should always check the date that your capsules were roasted on and make sure that you drink them before this date passes.

If you’re unsure about whether or not a capsule has expired, then there are a few things you can do to check. Firstly, look at the packaging; if it doesn’t have an expiration date on it then it might be worth throwing away. However, if there is a batch number but no expiration date, then simply look up the batch number on the Nespresso website and see if there is an expiration date listed there.

As mentioned above, another thing to look out for when determining whether or not your capsules have expired is the roast date on each capsule itself. This will usually be printed on one side of the capsule with an ink stamp near where it attaches to its foil wrapper (see below). It looks something like this.
