In Canada, there is no need to use a fork at every meal. In fact, it’s actually considered rude in some circles to use utensils at all when eating certain foods, like pizza or burgers.
People who observe this custom often say that the utensils get in the way of the taste of their food. However, there are also those who feel that using a fork is simply too much work.
