I have a female cat that meows when i pick her up. She is fine with me holding her, but if she feels threatened or if i start petting her too much she will meow and struggle to get out of my arms.

I can hold her comfortably in my arms for about 20 seconds before she starts struggling against me. I hold her for about 30 seconds total each time (holding her for a few seconds, then putting her down, then holding her again).

She doesn’t do this with other people – only when i’m holding her. Also, she doesn’t do this with other cats, only when i’m petting them or holding them (i have male cats).

I don’t know what to do about it. The first few times i picked up the cat it was because she was hurt and needed medical attention which made sense for why she would be scared of being held like that again now that she’s better (she was hit by a car). But now that we’ve had a few weeks without any incidents like that happening it doesn’t seem like there’s any reason why she would still be afraid of being picked up by me anymore.
