There is no shortage of female superheroes in the comic book world. From Wonder Woman to Black Widow, the superheroine is an important part of comic book lore. But when it comes to pink superheroes, there are few.
One of the most famous pink superheroes is Batgirl. She first appeared in Detective Comics #359 in April 1967 and was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Carmine Infantino. The character was inspired by the success of the Batman TV series and was later adapted into an animated series on ABC in 1967.
Batgirl has also appeared in various films and television shows over the years including a live-action film titled “Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman” from 2003, which starred Alyssa Milano as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.
There have been other female superheroes who have worn pink costumes over the years including Lady Lightning (who was originally called Lady Justice), Lady Liberty (a member of The Freedom Fighters) and Miss America (who first appeared in 1940).
