Jet Li (born Li Lian Jie) is the son of Li Zhishen and Chen Xuezhen, who are brother and sister. Their parents were from Manchuria (now in China), but moved to Hong Kong as adults.

Bruce Lee (born Lee Jun-fan) was born to Lee Hoi Chuen, a Cantonese opera singer, and Grace Ho, a stage actress turned film actress who had been trained in Peking Opera; he was born on November 27th 1940 in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

His father died when he was only four years old, so Grace sent him back to Hong Kong with her husband and son Robert Chan, where he spent his youth until returning to America at age 18 with the goal of becoming an actor or martial artist like his father before him.
